Girls’ Choirs, North and South

The NYCGB Girls’ Choirs  are aimed to offer opportunities for younger girls to sing within the NYC organisation. Some will go on to  audition for a place in one of the Training Choirs.

There are currently two Girls' choirs, Northern and Southern.

Girls are allowed to audition from the age of 11 years, with membership ceasing when the member reaches her 16th birthday. Members may be considered for a place in one of the NYTCs from the age of 13.

The Courses

Two courses are held per year; a joint course at Easter involving all the Junior Choirs, and a Summer course for each junior choir. They are run by staff from the NYC organisation.

On courses, members will receive choral training from leading youth choir conductors. Singing lessons and classes in ear training and musicianship will provide a fun learning basis to move up the NYC ladder.
